My Trunk Club Vacation Favorites

I shared a bit of my recent Trunk Club Trunk in my Instagram Stories over the weekend and I love how you guys are always so intrigued. You may remember earlier this year I vowed to shop less and buy with more intention and my Trunks have definitely helped with this. I know, I know—how is a box full of clothes helping you shop less, exactly? Well, to start, I have them set up to come every two months and concentrate on not shopping in between those months. I focus on asking my Stylist for classic, wardrobe staples and find that when I have to “check out” by providing feedback for each item, it helps me really pinpoint if I actually do need an item—or if I don’t. More about Trunk Club in THIS POST but if you’re interested in getting your own Trunk, you can use this link to be set up with my Stylist, Lauren. She’s amazing.

Anyway, back to this month’s Trunk and my vacation favorites! I asked Lauren to focus on vacation staples since we’re heading to Mexico next week and she sent a great mix of classic, effortless pieces and a few items that pushed me with just the right amount “trend.” I requested easy-breezy items, summer whites, sandals, etc and Lauren included just that. Without further ado, here are my Trunk Club Vacation Favorites…

Always a fan of easy-breezy-effortless, this BP. linen blend midi dress is the perfect lbd for the season. It’s lightweight and airy and I love the button-front feature for a little something special. If in between sizes, I would say go down a size if you want it more fitted, or go with your usual size if you want it to be a little more relaxed. I’m usually a US 0/2 and have the xs and almost could have even done the xxs if I wanted it to be slightly fitted. Personally, I like how it’s relaxed just enough. For sizing/length reference, I’m 5’6”.

I should also say now—I am wearing my entire trunk with this straw hat because I immediately pulled it off, put it on and basically never took it off. It’s good and under $50. More accurately, it’s $44 and also comes in the prettiest lilac tone.

I’m also wearing these Soludos sandals in the majority of these outfits. I actually bought these last year and laughed when I saw them in my Trunk because Lauren totally knows my style! Personally, I think they’re adorable but I did return them because they’re not the most comfortable. My absolute favorite, no-break-in-required sandals is this pair from Bella Vita and it’s hard to top them. Available in additional colors here!

Next up was this pair of white linen pants and these were another easy yes. I just love how they look and feel effortless and breezy and the styling options are endless. Wear them by the pool with a one-piece or bikini, dress them up with a crop top and wedges for vacation cocktails or throw them on with a white tee and slide sandals paired with a denim jacket for something a little more everyday-appropriate.

These come in a ton of colors (navy, oatmeal, black and striped) but I love the bright white. The coverage is great and they’re just ever-so-slightly see through—nude underwear and you’re good!

I have these in an xs.

Always a fan of midi skirts, this Leith front-button midi skirt in ‘peach clay’ got me just enough outside my neutral comfort zone. This does have a matching top but I love how a white tee keeps the look a bit more simple and effortless. Midi skirts instantly make me feel more feminine and I could live in them during the warmer months. Perfect for date night and summer days. How sweet is the button detail and flutter hem? I have this in an xs.

Full disclosure, I didn’t end up keeping this Billabong X Sincerely Jules Twist Flirt Jumpsuit because it was a bit too small—sadly, it wouldn’t zip!—but so many of you loved it, I had to share. This print screams tropical vacation and would be such a fun piece for a beach trip. I would take a top version of this in a heartbeat and pair it with white or blue cutoff shorts—or my white linen pants! If you’re planning to snag this one—definitely size up! For reference, I’m wearing the xs and would have needed a small.

Lastly, these were pieces I almost kept. These navy paperbag waist knit shorts were so, so comfortable and I love the style. They’re also a steal at just $39. I personally was just trying to minimize what I kept and couldn’t justify them because I already have something similar in my closet. I love them with this striped Madewell tee though for a nautical-inspired vacation look.

The J.Crew eyelet midi wrap dress was another gorgeous and feminine silhouette but I have another similar white midi dress in my collection, so I passed. I felt a little bit “Southern Belle” in this dress and can see it looking so sweet for a trip to Charleston or somewhere similar. It could also be great for a spring or summer bridal shower.
